L.A. Wedding

January 28th, 2009

Here are a few images from the wedding I shot last weekend in L.A. It was a very traditional, almost orthodox, Jewish wedding. It was pretty cool to see all the tradition that goes into the entire wedding day. When you’re shooting with Michael Norwood and Jessica Claire you spend most of the time watching them work their magic, but I was able to push them out of the way a few times to get some decent shots.

Thanks to Michael and Jessica for giving me the opportunity to shoot with them. I cant wait to do it again.

  2. Anna Carson says: These shots are gorgeous. Great job! I love the flowers.

Laguna Beach

January 19th, 2009

While I was in Orange County to shoot a wedding with Michael Norwood & Jessica Claire, Michael and I had a free evening and decided to take a trip up the coast. We drove until we found a little hole in the wall pizza place in Balbo, but before that we stopped in Laguna to take a few images. I have lived in California before but I am still amazed at the beauty of the beach at sunset. All I have to say is, beaches are awesome and we should really get one of these in Omaha. Here are a few “just for fun” images from our trip. Check back soon to see the images from the wedding.

Okay this is a blog and blogs are supposed to be fun right? So while we were shooting the sunset on the beach we noticed another photo shoot going on very near to us. This little sequence of shots is: the other shoot going on (you’ll have to look close), Michael noticing the shoot, then Michael telling me what he just noticed. We will chalk this up as something that only happens in Southern California.

Here is the final shot of the day. Also I realized there are no images of me on the blog so if you were curious… here you go. Thanks Michael for making me look decent.

  1. Michael Norwood says: So glad you got to come out! I can't wait til we get to hang again in April. Good stuff ...

  2. Justin says: Dude. I need some new pictures for my desktop. How much are they? :o)

Okay so it’s more like 2435 days after (give or take), but still the same concept. If you remember from a few posts back, Clint & Amanda are some of our best friends in Texas. They have been married for 6 or 7 years now but were never very happy with the style of their wedding portraits. Amazingly after a few years and a couple of kiddos Amanda can still fit easily into her wedding dress, so they got all spiffy and we did a wedding portrait session for them.

We LOVE “Day After” sessions. There is so much freedom compared to the wedding day. If you are searching for a photographer for your wedding day (and for some reason you don’t choose us) be sure and ask if they do “day after” sessions. I think you will find that you feel much more comfortable and end up with the killer images you are hoping for.

Shoot… Done.
