I LOVE FALL!! – Adam + Kara | Engagement

I think Fall may be the best time of year to take photos. The only downside is… So does everyone else. Which means the schedule can get a little crazy. Thankfully Adam, Kara and I took the time to squeeze in a morning session on Saturday, and I’m really glad we did. The colors in some of these shots are nuts.

For this final shot I couldn’t decide what I liked better in black and white or color. I’d love to hear your opinion.

This will be the last time I can use the blog title “my boys”. We are getting closer and closer to going to get our daughter from Ethiopia. I CAN’T WAIT!! David Potter’s not a rock star

Last night I had the opportunity to go shoot some portraits of David Potter for his upcoming CD release. I don’t really know David well. We’ve talk a number of times but we haven’t ever spent much time together. But one thing is clear when you met him, he’s not a rock star. He’s just not that kind of guy. So I wanted to be careful that I didn’t try and put him in a situation that didn’t connect with who he really is. We kept it laid back and organic. Here are some of my favorites.

Just a random photo from a recent engagement session. As I was searching through the images pulling the “selects” I almost skipped right over this image… Because its out of focus right? But the more I looked at the more I was drawn to it. In the end I kept it because I like it and sometimes that a good enough reason for me.

I recently shot Corey and Angie’s wedding and reception in the lovely Grand Island, Nebraska (or actually a really small town outside of Grand Island). These are some portraits and details from their day. They did an amazing job being extremely creative on a budget. I love the cake table. Check out their details for some inspiration.

Seth & Emily’s Omaha Engagement

Last week Seth and Emily made the long drive from “middle of nowhere” Nebraska to meet me in Downtown Omaha in the Old Market. We decided quickly that with the College World Series going on we would be better served finding a different location. So we ended up near the new stadium and shot in some places I have never been. It’s always fun to find new locations. Here are some of my favorites.

Alex and Matt were married a few weeks ago in Omaha NE with a nice reception at the Tip Top building downtown. These two are crazy in love with each other. I’m not usually the mushy type, but I’ll tell you true/passionate love is fun to capture. I love the first couple pictures from their “first look”. Hope you enjoy!
